It is important for us to develop cooperation with regions, which is why the college also has four branches in the regions of Latvia( In Gulbene, Valmiera, Liepaja, Ventspils), where students can obtain education, professional skills and competencies near their place of residence. In changing economic conditions, not everyone and not always can afford the long journey to the capital, to higher education institutions. College branches ensure the acquisition of study programs in demand in the labor market of the respective region, giving all interested parties the opportunity to acquire professional competencies and integrate into the labor market. The establishment of the college in Riga had generated widespread public interest throughout Latvia, as it was the first higher education institution of its kind in the country. The college administration received dozens of letters and calls from various parts of the republic with a request to establish college branches in other Latvian cities. The most applications came from Liepāja and Ventspils, and the distance to Riga was quite large for students to travel to lectures, so a decision was made to evaluate the possibilities of opening branches. The municipalities of both cities were very responsive and interested, helping to find premises and resolve other issues. After finding out the opinions of potential employers in Liepāja and Ventspils, we came to the conclusion that opening branches would be useful and in 2001. year 1st. the Liepāja branch started operating in February, and a month later - 1. in March also a second branch in Ventspils.
A similar situation developed in Vidzeme. The Gulbene branch was established taking into account the interest of potential students, finding out that students from Gulbene, Balvi, Alūksne and Madona cities and counties would rather study closer to their place of residence than go to Riga, which would not be possible for all potential students due to the long distance. The Gulbene County Council showed particular interest, supporting the establishment of a college branch and helping to find suitable premises and staff. Also in the Valmiera region, the opinion of local governments on the possibilities of implementing studies was first clarified, and with the support of the Valmiera City Council, a fourth college branch was established. Employer surveys conducted in the counties indicated that college graduates will be in demand in the local labor market. The decision to establish branches in Gulbene and Valmiera was made in 2007. 13 of the year. in february.
